CIDG nabs region's no. 2 most wanted in Pampanga

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — In a significant breakthrough against crime, operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Region 3, working with the Pampanga Provincial Field Unit (PFU) and the San Fernando City Police Station, apprehended the region’s No. 2 Most Wanted Person on October 8.
The suspect, known as alias “Sonny,” 29, was taken into custody at around 9:05 p.m. in Barangay Dolores, San Fernando City.
"Sonny" faces serious charges, including Statutory Rape under Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by RA 11648, and Acts of Lasciviousness under Article 336 of the RPC, in relation to Section 5(b) of RA 7610, as amended by RA 11648. No bail has been recommended in the Statutory Rape case.
PCOL Grant A. Gollod, Regional Chief of CIDG RFU 3, stated the arrest resulted from OPLAN Pagtugis, the agency’s campaign targeting high-profile fugitives.
Gollod praised the team’s commitment to justice and public safety, emphasizing:
“We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure criminals are brought to justice and our communities remain safe.”
The CIDG urged the public to report information on wanted persons through hotline numbers or local police stations.
