ASEAN Summit 2026 preparations underway
In the same event, Agote said they are expecting increased activity in the capital region in the lead-up to the 2026 Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit.
“Metro Manila will be busy next year for the ASEAN. There are around 600 plus meetings to be done in the Philippines,” he said, adding that the population is scattered nationwide.
Agote said DOT-NCR will lead the preparations for the ASEAN meetings, which are expected to attract high-profile guests.
The Philippines will officially assume the ASEAN chairmanship during the summit in Kuala Lumpur this October.
