A fire in Brgy. San Dionisio, Sitio Santo Niño Culiglig, Parañaque City displaced more than 100 families Thursday morning.
The Bureau of Fire Protection is still investigating what caused the blaze. However, vice president of the neighborhood association Leo Santos and other residents said that the fire started after a quarrel when a drunken husband allegedly threw a burning cloth into an empty house.
Most homes, made of light materials, allowed the fire to spread rapidly.
Santos added the incident occurred around 8:15 a.m., affecting roughly 150 families.
The fire was declared under control around noon. Evacuated residents are being temporarily housed at the Palanyag Gymnasium.
