Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) retailers, dealers and gasoline station owners in Palawan can now secure their licenses in a single day as the Department of Energy (DoE) rolls out a One-Stop-Shop this week.
Undersecretary Alessandro O. Sales said over the weekend that the program, which runs from 11 to 15 August, seeks to cut red tape and travel time for industry players.
“This One-Stop-Shop puts safety and service at the forefront of our work. By delivering services directly to the people, we are strengthening safety standards while helping local enterprises operate more efficiently and competitively,” Sales said.
Safer LPG use
“Our goal is clear: safer homes, communities, and a stronger local economy,” he added.
To recall, the DoE also opened a One-Stop Shop in Puerto Princesa City in 2023.
The agency plans to expand the program to other islands and remote provinces as mandated by the LPG Industry Regulation Act and related DoE issuances that require industry players to secure licenses and certifications to ensure compliance with health, safety, security, environmental and quality standards.
As of June, 14,672 LPG facilities nationwide have been issued LTOs, including 288 in the MIMAROPA region.
