Mercedes-Benz is making a big change in Cebu. Starting 1 August, 2025, the brand’s operations in the city will be handled by a new dealer, Autowelt Inc., taking over from Global Star Motors (GSM) after a decade-long partnership.

GSM officially closed its Cebu sales and after-sales operations on 31 July. Mercedes-Benz Philippines thanked the company for its role in building the brand’s presence in the Visayas and Mindanao, noting how GSM helped deliver premium service and strengthen the marque’s reputation in the region.

While the transition is underway, after-sales services will temporarily run from Vicente Rama Avenue corner Dr. Pablo U. Abella Street in Cebu City. Sales will continue through a pop-up display at NUSTAR Resort & Casino starting 5 August.

A bigger milestone is set for early 2026 when the brand opens its new full-service dealership at Ouano Avenue, North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City. The new Mercedes-Benz Gateway Cebu will follow the brand’s latest retail concept, promising a more immersive and personalized experience, from the first inquiry to vehicle delivery and beyond.

Gateway Group, the new dealer, is no stranger to the industry. With over 20 years of experience and a wide dealership network across the country, the company is known for its strong expansion strategy and focus on customer service.

Mercedes-Benz Philippines is confident that this partnership will help the brand grow further in the Visayas and Mindanao while maintaining its standard of craftsmanship, innovation and luxury. The move comes as Mercedes-Benz rolls out new models and expands its network through 2026.

Current dealerships in Metro Manila remain open: Mercedes-Benz Greenhills, BGC and Alabang.
