“Kahit picture lang, selos pa rin nang selos.”

After weeks of swirling speculation, Beverly Labadlabad, the manager of rising music artist Elias, is finally breaking her silence. At the center of a growing buzz online, Labadlabad found herself the subject of netizen chatter—accusations that Elias’ wife, Abegail Cariquitan, had grown jealous of her after photos of her and Elias surfaced on social media.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Labadlabad revealed that she became aware of the tension as early as May. Upon learning of Abegail’s sentiments, she made the first move to clear the air and suggested a proper conversation to settle the issue.

“May (month) pa lang, nalaman ko na na nag-start na pala magselos. Nag-message ako sa partner ni Elias. Sabi ko, ‘Baka mayroon kang time, then we can sit down together.’ Kung ano man ‘yung mga usap-usapan, upuan natin. So, ‘yun. Nagkita kami sa Cebu. Sinabihan ko siya na trabaho lang talaga. May asawa po ako. Pinaliwanag ko sa puso niya. Pero hindi ko inasahan na mas lumala pala,” she said.

Despite her attempt to clarify things, the situation only escalated. According to Labadlabad, even simple work-related photos were being blown out of proportion, feeding the flames of doubt.

She admitted that the unpredictable nature of managing a band—especially one with a full and often hectic schedule—could have contributed to the issue going viral. The time demands, travel arrangements, and backstage dynamics may have fueled assumptions that went beyond professional boundaries.

But Labadlabad remains firm about her role and intentions.

She emphasized that she manages the entire band, not just Elias, and that her sole focus is on building their careers. As a first-time manager, the learning curve has been steep—and drama is the last thing she wants to deal with.

“I’m managing an entire group, not just one person. This is my first time handling talents at this scale, and I take that responsibility seriously,” she noted.

In a world where appearances can be easily misconstrued and social media can quickly amplify personal matters, Labadlabad’s story is a reminder that not everything seen online reflects the full truth.

Her message, both calm and firm, remains clear: Trabaho lang ‘to.
