Digital entertainment and online betting firm DigiPlus Interactive Corp. will be joining the Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi), the main barometer of local equities, starting 18 August.

This marks a significant milestone for the company as it replaces Bloomberry Resorts Corp., the operator of the Solaire casino-resort.

In a memorandum issued Friday, the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) announced changes in the composition of the PSEi and other indices based on its regular review of trading activity from July 2024 to June 2025.

Milestone

“Joining the PSE Index is more than a corporate milestone for us at DigiPlus. It’s a powerful statement that homegrown Filipino companies can lead in the digital age,” DigiPlus chairman Eusebio Tanco said in a statement.

“We’ve created a new kind of digital entertainment company, one that doesn’t just catch up on trends, but pioneers platforms that resonate with real people.”

The PSEi is composed of 30 publicly listed companies and serves as a key indicator of market performance, reflecting movements in the share prices of the country’s top firms based on liquidity and market capitalization.

Rapid growth

DigiPlus, known for its portfolio of online gaming platforms and digital entertainment services, has seen rapid growth in both market value and trading activity — meeting the criteria for index inclusion.

The reshuffle reflects the evolving nature of the Philippine stock market, with digital-first companies like DigiPlus rising in influence while traditional players face increasing competition in a shifting economic landscape.

The updated PSEi lineup will be effective on Monday, 18 August.
