Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Biazon expressed support for resident Ejhay Faustino, who is representing the city in the second year of Tomboy Philippines, a pageant for empowered lesbians.
Faustino met with Biazon on Thursday ahead of the competition. Biazon told the Muntinlupa candidate that winning the pageant would be commendable, but representing the city and promoting a cause stands of greater importance.
“Winning is just the icing on the cake. What’s more important is your personal development, the experience of carrying the name of Muntinlupa, and delivering your advocacy for the rights of the entire LGBTQIA+ community,” Biazon said in Filipino.
In a statement, Tomboy Philippines thanked Biazon for his support, calling it a “powerful reminder that visibility, advocacy, and self-growth matter.”
The group added that the pageant is not just a competition but a movement for equality and pride.
