The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) has given its approval “in principle” for public utility vehicles (PUVs) to pass through Bilibid, allowing access for students and staff of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa (PLMun) and Muntinlupa National High School (MNHS), according to Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Biazon.
In a statement on Thursday, Biazon said PUV access will be allowed under specific conditions, including the restriction that passengers may only be dropped off and picked up at designated points.
“Drop-offs will only be allowed at Itaas Elementary School and the designated drop-off point near Muntinlupa National High School,” Biazon said.
Drivers are required to be in proper attire. They are also mandated to pass a drug test and have designated numbers for identification.
The agreed time window for operations is from 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. A dry run involving participating jeepneys—without passengers—will be conducted to assess the route and travel time. Full operations are expected to begin on Monday.
Biazon said the city government is also eyeing talks with the South Green Heights Subdivision for a similar agreement, as the subdivision has an access road leading to Korokan.
Free rides for students of PLMun and Muntinlupa National High School will continue to be provided.
