A 44-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday evening after allegedly stabbing his wife during an argument in Pasay City.
According to Pasay City Police, the incident happened around 11:05 pm inside the couple’s home along Andrews Avenue in Baranavay 184, Maricaban.
The victim, 32-year-old alias “Arlyn” was rushed to Pasay City General Hospital by relatives where responding medical staff found a balisong knife still lodged in her back and was removed through surgery.
Authorities said the suspect, alias “Boy,” 44, was arrested immediately by officers from Sub-Station 7 after being identified by a witness.
Police responded to the scene after receiving a call through the city’s 911 Kalasag Hotline.
Alias “Arlyn” filed a formal complaint on Wednesday.
The suspect faces charges of frustrated parricide and violation of Republic Act 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act. The case is under initial investigation by the Pasay City Prosecutor's Office.
