On 21 July 2025, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) General Manager Melquiades Robles led the ceremonial turnover of a P57,400,701.81 check to the Department of Energy (DOE) as part of the PCSO’s mandatory contribution to the agency.
The check was formally received by DOE Undersecretary Rowena Cristina Guevara during an official ceremony held at the PCSO main office in Mandaluyong.
The amount represents PCSO’s mandatory contribution equivalent to 1.5 percent of its net annual income, as mandated by Republic Act No. 9513, or the “Renewable Energy Act of 2008.” It will be allocated to the Renewable Energy Trust Fund (RETF), which supports programs promoting clean, safe, and sustainable energy sources.
