After days of heavy rain and flooding, delivering much-needed assistance to Malabon City was all in a day’s job for First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.

Last Tuesday, Mrs. Marcos visited to check those affected by the flood.

“Brought our ‘Lab for All’ caravan to Malabon today, bringing free medical checkups, eye exams, reading glasses, lab services and assistance from several government agencies right to the heart of the community,” she said.

Mrs. Marcos noted that the visit felt “especially important,” as families are trying to recover from the calamity.

“Our goal was simple—to be there when people need us most,” she affirmed.

The First Lady expressed her gratitude to the local government of Malabon for its assistance and warm welcome.

“Thank you, Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, and our public and private partners for helping make our program a success,” she said.

She emphasized the importance of making government services accessible, especially during times of crisis.

She echoed her husband’s call for good governance, following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s criticism of those responsible for the shortcomings in the government’s flood control programs.

“I fully support the President’s call for honesty and integrity among public officials. It’s long overdue,” she said. “Let this be the beginning of real accountability.”

Mrs. Marcos also issued a warning to those using her name to “advance selfish and corrupt agendas,” saying this would not be tolerated.

“Enough is enough. Public service is a privilege, not a business,” she stressed.
