A vape brand has advised its distributors to surrender their vape products that lack the Philippine Standard (PS) Mark, as required by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), under its existing departmental order on the product certification of vaporized nicotine and non-nicotine products.

In a statement sent to the DAILY TRIBUNE, vape brand SMOK said they are fully committed to legal compliance in the Philippines.

“Legal and regulatory compliance is our unwavering commitment at the core of our operations,” the company statement reads.

The firm said under DTI Department Administrative Order (DAO) 22-06, Rule 15, and per DAO 24-02 (Technical Regulation for Vaporized Nicotine and Non-Nicotine Products), they are recalling SMOK brand vapor device products that are lacking PS Marks.

PS mark mandatory

“It has come to our attention that certain remaining old models of SMOK products in some retail stores, which have been found non-compliant with the mandatory PS Certification requirements, as provided under DAO 24-02. The absence of the PS mark signifies that the products have not undergone the required quality and safety evaluation by the Bureau of Philippine Standards under the Department of Trade and Industry,” the company said, stating the reason for the recall.

Affected SMOK products include all unsold old inventory of SMOK vapor devices lacking the PS Mark, currently available in the Philippine market.

With this, the company said distributors and retailers are strongly advised to return affected SMOK vapor device products without the PS mark to any of the authorized collection channels below on or before 28 August 2025, advising their distributors to coordinate with their authorized collection channels via support.ph@smoktech.com and hotline 09506376283

“Returned products will be replaced with SMOK products of equivalent value that are duly certified and compliant with applicable DTI/PS regulations,” the company stated.
