Taiwan has launched a new initiative in the Philippines, the “Go Healthy with Taiwan” campaign, aiming to foster global partnerships in health and wellness innovation. The campaign, executed by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), invites Filipino public institutions, businesses, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to propose pioneering ways to apply Taiwan’s health-focused technologies to local community needs.
The top three proposals will each be awarded US$30,000. Additionally, the top six finalists will receive an exclusive “Go Healthy Tour” to Taiwan, offering them a direct experience of the country's dynamic health technology ecosystem.
This tour will include hands-on demonstrations, site visits, and networking opportunities with leading Taiwanese companies, allowing finalists to explore potential collaborations, product integration, and market expansion firsthand.
Taiwan Trade Center Manila director Alex Lai cited the strong Filipino interest in the contest. "The people of the Philippines are eager than ever to share their innovative ideas to the 'Go Healthy with Taiwan' contest," Lai said.
"Ever since the campaign was launched, Filipinos across the nation became inspired to partner with Taiwan for solutions that will help the health concerns in their local community, and even beyond,” he added.
The contest highlights three key health sectoral focus areas for proposals -- Fitness & Sports Technology, Cycling, and Smart Healthcare. Taiwan's smart fitness technologies, such as AI-assisted training machines, are recommended innovations for proposals aimed at boosting personal and nationwide wellness.
Taiwan's globally recognized cycling sector, known for high-performance bicycles and leading urban cycling infrastructure, is another area for consideration.
Lastly, the contest encourages the application of Taiwan’s smart healthcare systems, featuring technologies that are reshaping healthcare delivery and preventive care models worldwide.
Participants can submit their proposals through the official SurveyCake platform at https://gohealthy.surveycake.biz/s/0DZg4. The deadline for submissions is 14 August 2025.
