This joint initiative will implement programs such as seminars, workshops, and other relevant engagements to promote and strengthen financial and stock market literacy among SBU students. These activities will also serve as practical learning opportunities to support their academic growth and professional readiness. Faculty members of the university are also encouraged to take part in the programs.

The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE) and San Beda University's (SBU) College of Arts and Sciences Departments of Accountancy, Economics & Public Policy, and Financial Management formalized their collaboration to advance capital market education through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on July 15, 2025 at SBU's main campus in Manila.

SBU is the first partner-school of PSE in terms of investor education integration in the academic program of its target departments.

"We are pleased to partner with San Beda to implement investor education programs. We hope to develop money management skills among students and help them understand the value of investing so they are equipped to handle their finances even before joining the work force or starting their own business," PSE President and CEO Ramon S. Monzon said.

Both parties will also organize an internship program for qualified SBU students and explore the potential of offering PSE's Certified Securities Specialist Course through SBU.

"The MOU opens up opportunities for PSE and SBU to collaborate on a variety of financial literacy programs for the SBU community. These activities may potentially include having SBU's own CSSC offering, stock research competitions, virtual stock trading tournaments, networking events with capital market industry experts, among others," Mr. Monzon added.

Mr. Monzon also expressed optimism that similar partnerships will be established with other universities and academic institutions to empower the next generation of capital market investors.
