Seven individuals were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Rizal province on Wednesday afternoon.
In Barangay Macamot, Binangonan, operatives of the Binangonan Municipal Police Station's drug enforcement team apprehended three suspects identified only as alias Popoy, 27; alias Anthony, 50; and alias Makmak, 41. A fourth suspect, alias Pat, managed to escape during the operation.
Authorities confiscated 2.74 grams of suspected shabu worth approximately P18,632, an undetermined amount of buy-bust money, an improvised firearm (sumpak), bullets, a cellphone, a bag, and several drug paraphernalia.
Meanwhile, in Barangay Silangan, San Mateo, three drug suspects were also nabbed in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Team of San Mateo Municipal Police Station. Those arrested were identified as alias Alvin, 47; alias Edison, 28; and alias Ejay, 40.
Seized from their possession were 0.7 grams of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia including aluminum foil and a lighter, a .38 caliber revolver, five bullets, buy-bust money, and various cellphones.
All six arrested suspects are temporarily detained at the custodial facilities of the Binangonan and San Mateo police stations while authorities prepare charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
