The local government of Quezon City has emerged as a top choice for senior high school and college students seeking on-the-job training (OJT), largely due to its Quezon City Internship Program (QCIP) launched in 2022.
Since its inception, the QCIP has attracted 1,950 student applicants, highlighting the city’s growing reputation as a dynamic training ground for future professionals.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte expressed pride in the city’s increasing appeal as an OJT host.
“This is a clear sign that this generation considers public service as a meaningful career path — one where they can make a difference. It’s evident that the values of leadership and service are alive and well in our youth,” Belmonte said.
“We see this as a great opportunity, as every student who eventually chooses public service contributes to our mission of promoting good governance,” she added.
The majority of interns have come from Quezon City University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Carlos P. Romulo Senior High School, National University-Fairview and Lucrecia R. Kasilag Senior High School.
