Another group of Filipino caregivers arrived in Manila over the weekend as part of efforts to bring home overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from conflict-hit Israel.
According to the Department of Migrant Workers, 25 OFWs arrived on Sunday at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 and were welcomed by authorities from the agency.
The repatriated workers received financial assistance and other support from government agencies including the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and the Department of Health.
Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Cacdac urged workers to use the assistance from the government wisely. One of the OFWs, Nelizza Baldrias from Calaca, Batangas said that they can use the aid provided to start a small business.
The 25 workers make up the 39th batch of overseas Filipino workers repatriated from Israel since its conflict with Iran in the Middle East in 2023.
A batch of 21 workers also arrived on Saturday.
