Another group of Filipino caregivers arrived in Manila over the weekend as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to bring home overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from conflict-hit Israel.
According to the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), 25 OFWs arrived on Sunday at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 and were welcomed by agency officials.
The returning workers received financial assistance and other forms of support from various government agencies, including the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and the Department of Health (DOH).
Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Cacdac encouraged the OFWs to use the assistance wisely. One of the returnees, Nelizza Baldrias from Calaca, Batangas, said they could use the aid to start a small business.
The group forms the 39th batch of OFWs repatriated from Israel since the conflict escalated in the Middle East in 2023.
A separate batch of 21 workers also arrived on Saturday.
