The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office IX in the Zamboanga Peninsula, in coordination with the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), distributed relief food packs in Zamboanga City on Sunday.
According to a DSWD report, a total of 571 boxes of food packs worth ₱408,625 have been distributed to families and individuals affected by the flash floods caused by the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.
A total of 739 families or 2,374 individuals were reportedly affected, with nine evacuation centers still open in Barangays Tumaga, Pasonanca, Boalan, Tugbungan, and Lunzuran.
Meanwhile, evacuees from Barangays Guiwan and Sta. Maria have already returned home, and the evacuation centers in these areas have been closed.
