De La Salle University is sticking it out with head coach Topex Robinson, who signed a three-year deal ahead of Season 88 of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) men’s basketball tournament.
According to reports, Robinson inked the contract last Tuesday to resume his coaching ways with the Green Archers.
Since getting hired back in 2023, La Salle won the UAAP title in his first year with stars like Kevin Quiambao, Mark Nonoy, and Evan Nelle as they defeated the University of the Philippines.
The Archers even made a return trip to the finals last year but lost to the Fighting Maroons in a best-of-three championship series.
Despite Quiambao forgoing his remaining playing years to play for the Goyang Sono Skygunners in the Korean Basketball League, La Salle still boasts a talented squad that is sure to compete for another UAAP title.
With names like Kean Baclaan, Jacob Cortez, Luis Pablo and Mason Amos, the Archers remain contenders for Season 88.
Keeping Robinson at the helm ensures there will be continuity within the program along with assistant coaches Caloy Garcia and Oliver Bunyi.
La Salle has been competing in local competitions to stay sharp in the off-season.
In fact, the Archers are on top of the UAAP bracket of the Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup after four straight wins.
