BROOKE’S POINT, Palawan — For the third year in a row, Ipilan Nickel Corporation (INC) has been recognized as one of the top taxpayers in the Municipality of Brooke’s Point, reinforcing its role as a major contributor to the local economy.
During the town’s 76th Foundation Celebration held on 28 June 2025, INC received awards for being the Top 1 Taxpayer for Local Business Tax and Top 2 Taxpayer for Real Property Tax.
“This recognition affirms our commitment to nation-building and our shared responsibility in helping sustain local development through responsible mining,” said INC Resident Mine Manager Alex Arabis.
In 2024, INC paid more than P58 million in local business taxes and continued to support the local economy through employment and other economic activities. The company also implements Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to strengthen ties with its host communities.
“As part of an industry that often faces public scrutiny, Ipilan Nickel shows that mining can contribute meaningfully to inclusive development,” Arabis added. “Paying taxes promptly and correctly is one of the most concrete ways we demonstrate that.”
