Ipilan Nickel Corporation (INC) has been recognized once again by the Municipality of Brooke’s Point as the top taxpayer for Local Business Tax and the second highest taxpayer for Real Property Tax.
The recognition, marking INC’s third consecutive year as one of the town’s most consistent and substantial revenue contributors, was awarded during the municipality’s 76th Foundation Celebration on June 28 at the Brooke’s Point Event Center.
“This recognition affirms our commitment to nation-building and our shared responsibility in helping sustain local development through responsible mining,” said Alex Arabis, INC’s Resident Mine Manager. “As an active corporate presence in Brooke’s Point, we take pride in doing our part to contribute to a stronger, more resilient community by being one of its largest taxpayers.”
In 2024, INC paid Php 58.2 million in local business taxes. The company’s operations also contributed to economic activity in the area and supported local employment.
INC said its role in the community extends beyond tax compliance, highlighting its Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts aimed at long-term development partnerships.
“As part of an industry that often faces public scrutiny, Ipilan Nickel shows that mining can contribute meaningfully to inclusive development. Paying taxes promptly and correctly is one of the most concrete ways we demonstrate that,” Arabis added.
