The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced Wednesday, 2 July, that it will begin uploading all Statements of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCEs) received from candidates, party-list groups, and political parties who participated in the 12 May elections.
"We can expect the SOCEs received to be uploaded later on the Comelec website, as committed by Chair George Erwin Garcia," said Comelec spokesperson Rex Laudiangco.
SOCE filing ended on 11 June, with 61 out of 64 senatorial candidates submitting their reports.
Meanwhile, 141 out of 155 party-list groups also filed their respective SOCEs, and 25 out of 28 political parties complied with the requirements.
Candidates, party-list groups, and political parties that have twice failed to file their SOCEs will face criminal charges and perpetual disqualification from holding public office, according to the Comelec.
In the 2022 elections, the poll body said it filed 400 cases against candidates, party-list groups, and political parties for failure to file their SOCEs.
SOCEs cover campaign expenses incurred within the official campaign period — 11 February to 10 May for national candidates, and 28 March to 10 May for local candidates.
However, expenses incurred during the filing of candidacies, from 1 to 8 October 2024, are not included in the SOCE.
