Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Acting Secretary Jay Ruiz has debunked rumors that he will be departing from the agency.
Ruiz denied claims that he would be replaced or transferred to the Presidential Action Center (PAC).
“I always serve at the pleasure of the president,” he told Palace reporters.
“Whatever happens, I will be forever grateful for the opportunity,” he added.
Earlier, reports circulated that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. was seeking a new communications chief and had asked former journalist and PMFTC communications director Dave Gomez to lead the PCO.
Malacañang has yet to confirm or deny these claims but reiterated that Ruiz remains the acting Secretary.
The current PCO chief was bypassed by the powerful Commission on Appointments before Congress adjourned sine die, and was later reappointed by the President. He is the fourth person to assume the position, following predecessors who were also members of the media.
