A 31-year-old construction worker was arrested Friday morning in Antipolo City for robbery and sexual assault.
Police identified the suspect only by the alias “Joffrey,” a resident of Barangay Sta. Cruz in Antipolo City, Rizal.
Initial investigation showed that the victim was asleep when the suspect forcibly entered the house and threatened her by pointing a knife at her neck. Despite the victim’s resistance and pleas, the suspect allegedly sexually assaulted her.
He fled the scene with a mobile phone worth P6,000 and P1,100 in cash. The victim, though traumatized and in shock, reported the incident to the Annex 2 substation of the Antipolo City Police.
Based on information provided by the victim, personnel from the Antipolo City Police conducted a follow-up operation and arrested the suspect, who was positively identified by the victim. However, the stolen items were not recovered.
