ILOILO — The Iloilo provincial government has turned over 21 tent-type makeshift classrooms to three public high schools as part of its immediate response to classroom shortages.
Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. led the ceremonial turnover of the modular tents on Monday to Alimodian National Comprehensive High School, Ardemil National High School in Ajuy and Leonora S. Salapantan National High School Extension in San Miguel.
Alimodian National Comprehensive High School, which recently lost 19 classrooms in a fire, received 10 tent classrooms.
Ardemil National High School, which has long faced shortages in classroom space, was given nine units.
Two units were allocated to the San Miguel-based extension school serving geographically isolated learners.
The tent-type classrooms were developed by the Provincial School Board and designed by the Provincial Engineer’s Office, under the Provincial Government’s Bulig Eskwela sang Probinsya (BES Probins) program.
