The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) have entered into a collaboration with Metro Pacific Corporation’s North Luzon Expressway Corporation and the local government of Hermosa, Bataan to build a new P495.35-million road interchange.
The interchange road project, which connects the municipality of Hermosa in Bataan to the 94-kilometer Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), is aimed at supporting the expansion of Central Luzon’s logistics and manufacturing corridor.
According to the DPWH, the proposed budget for the project totals P495.347 million, including right of way.
Long-term development strategy
The proposed interchange road will form part of the long-term development strategy to enhance regional connectivity along the SCTEX, creating a critical link between Bataan’s emerging economic zones and industrial estates to other growth corridors in Central Luzon, such as the Clark Freeport Zone, New Clark City and the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
Moreover, the project shall also improve access to the BCDA-administered Bataan Technology Park in Morong, the future home of the Philippine Marine Corps.
