The southwest monsoon is expected to continue bringing rain over the western section of Luzon, including Metro Manila, in the coming days, PAGASA said Sunday.
PAGASA Weather Specialist Obet Badrina said clouds from the southwest monsoon were observed over Western Luzon’s landmass, affecting Bataan, Zambales, Pangasinan, Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan.
With the occurrence of moderate to heavy rains in the afternoon to evening, Badrina added that monsoon rains can also take place during early mornings.
“Rain is also occurring in the early morning, so those heading to work or school should expect a high chance of rain,” he said.
The remaining parts of Luzon are forecast to experience hot noons, along with thunderstorms, especially during afternoon and nighttime.
Meanwhile, the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) is bringing cloudy skies accompanied by isolated thunderstorms in the Davao Region and SOCCKSARGEN region.
A low pressure area (LPA) was spotted by PAGASA outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
As of 2:00 p.m., the LPA was last spotted 2,530 kilometers east of Extreme Northern Luzon and has a “high” chance of developing into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours.
A light to moderate sea condition is expected within the seawaters in the country.
