Tom Rodriguez appears to be slowly introducing his family to the public.
In a recent Instagram post, he shared not just one or two but four photos of his partner and their baby Korben, although they’re not facing the camera.
Now, one enterprising content creator shared on Facebook photos of Rodriguez’s partner and revealing her face. Some photos of the actor’s baby were also shown. One photo captured Rodriguez, his partner and their baby while they were inside a supermarket. Still another was taken during a special occasion where they were joined by family and friends.
Korina Sanchez had us laughing.
In a recent interview, she was asked about her retirement plans, which she said she had not planned yet.
“I have to be doing something relevant kundi mamamatay ako. Kapag may lumapit, hindi ko matulungan...parang...If not, I will die. And if someone seeks help and I can’t help, it’s like..),” she trailed off.
That had us laughing as she was trying to project a very helpful image.
We remember, an amputee was referred to her and she immediately asked her male staff to ask what help was needed.
Since Sanchez has an advocacy in helping the physically handicapped, the amputee requested for a prosthesis. Her staff initially said that since it was a few days before All Saints Day, there was no available medical staff as all were already in their provinces.
A week after All Saints Day, the amputee did a follow-up and was told that the medical staff went abroad.
Two weeks later, the amputee made a follow-up but Sanchez’s staff didn’t bother to text back.
And the amputee didn’t hear anything from Sanchez or her staff.
How’s that being helpful?
Playing the lead role in Song of the Fireflies and acting on the big screen for the first time are nerve-wracking experiences for singer Morisette.
“It’s a tie. Ultimately, this is my first film. That alone is nerve-wracking having to show up all the time, be there, play the role. But I think the more nerve-wracking is to portray a real person, having to embody an actual person,” she said during the media serenade for the movie that also stars Rachel Alejandro, Noel Comia Jr. and Krystal Brimner.
Morissette plays Ma’am Alma Taldo, the devoted founder of Bohol’s Loboc Children’s Choir (LCC). Her first acting in a movie has earned her a Best Actress recognition and a nomination for the Audience Choice Award at the 2025 Manila International Film Festival.
Song of the Fireflies is a tribute to the extraordinary journey of the Loboc Children’s Choir, which began in the 1980s in the quiet riverside town of Loboc, Bohol. Composed of children as young as 9 to 13 years old, the choir had to rise above poverty, limited resources, and natural calamities — all in pursuit of a single dream: to let their voices be heard beyond the walls of their classroom. Their dreams burned brightly, fanned by the steadfast guidance of their teacher, Ma’am Alma, and the unwavering support of Equet Butalid, a cultural advocate of Bohol who believed deeply in their talent.
Over the years, the choir’s dedication and extraordinary talent earned them well-deserved recognition both locally — where they were honored with the prestigious Gawad CCP Para sa Sining, the highest award given by the Cultural Center of the Philippines — and on the world stage, bringing home top honors from the European Folksongs Festival in Barcelona, Spain twice (in 1993 and 1995) and later claiming the coveted Gold Medal in the children’s choir category in 2001. Their inspiring journey proves that even the smallest voices can echo across the globe, and that no dream is ever too big when pursued with courage and heart. Mga munting tinig na may malalaking pangarap — these young singers didn’t just raise their voices to be heard, but to be truly believed in.
Since she was shooting all the time while in Bohol, Morissette asked for a local cruise in the area.
“We did firefly watching. We really immersed ourselves,” she shared.
Working with the children of the choir was a new experience for the singer.
“I just love being able to work with the kids. It really felt more of a retreat. It’s like we’re just jamming. We’re learning from each other. I learned so many things,” she said.
