ARAYAT, Pampanga — The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) has arrested a suspect in child exploitation at Barangay Telapayong of this town on Wednesday, 4 June.
Suspect Erickson Salazar Garcia was arrested in an entrapment operation against online child exploitation at the aforementioned area that led to the rescue of a minor.
The Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 3 (RACU3) and the Arayat Municipal Police Station arrested the suspect at a hotel in Barangay Telapayong.
The operation was conducted after a 17-year-old victim and her mother filed a complaint with the police.
Suspect Garcia, a 26-year-old resident of Anao, Mexico, was arrested at the hotel.
Garcia is facing charges of violating Republic Act 11930 or the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act; Republic Act 9208 that was amended by Republic Act Nos. 10364 and 11862 or the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act;
Republic Act 7610 o ang Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act; Republic Act 9995 or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act; as well as violating Article 286 (Grave Coercion) and Article 282 (Grave Threat) of the Revised Penal Code, in which all are related to Republic Act 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
