

In observance of Eid al-Adha, Vice President Sara Duterte emphasized the importance of "sacrifice, faith, and kindness" to all Filipinos.
"On this occasion, may it serve as a reminder to all of us of the meaning of sacrifice, faith, and kindness — values that are important not only to our faith but also in our daily lives as a people," Duterte said in a statement.
She added, "The spirit of Eid al-Adha serves as a reminder of courage, generosity, and compassion for others — qualities that are very important at the present time."
Duterte expressed that her solidarity with Muslim Filipinos is "strengthened by brotherhood, respect, and acceptance."
"May we gratefully accept Allah's blessings at all times," she concluded.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declared 6 June 2025, a regular holiday nationwide in observance of Eid’l Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice.
Eid’l Adha is a major Muslim festival celebrated worldwide for three to four days, marked by special prayers at mosques and Islamic centers. It is considered the second of two major Muslim holidays, following Eid’l Fitr.
