Singer-songwriter Sabrina Carpenter dropped her new single "Manchild" on Thursday (East Coast time), 5 June.
"Manchild" gives off another summer anthem vibe from the popstar. She revealed her new music on social media through the cover art of the song, where she is seen sticking her thumb out by the side of the road, signaling passing cars for a hitchhike. "This one is about you," she wrote in her caption.
The song talks about having a "cuter version of a man who is stupid, slow and useless," according to the singer herself. Aside from the digital release, the single is also available in a special 7-inch vinyl format.
She announced that a music video for the song will drop the next day. This marks Carpenter's return to the music scene since the deluxe edition of Short n' Sweet dropped in February.
Fans of the pop star speculate that the song is dedicated to her ex-boyfriend, Barry Keoghan, but there have been no confirmations yet from the singer herself.
