Singapore PM due for official visit

Singapore’s Prime Minister Lawrence Wong is coming to Manila on an official visit, Malacañang announced on Monday.
Wong’s will be in the country from 4 to 5 June at the invitation of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
This is his first bilateral visit after his reappointment in May.
One of the Prime Minister’s official engagements will be a bilateral meeting on 4 June, where he and President Marcos are expected to discuss the strengthening of Philippines-Singapore ties in key areas such as health, climate change mitigation and civil service cooperation.
The leaders will also exchange views on key political and economic issues affecting the region.
Singapore was the country’s 8th largest trading partner in 2024 and is currently home to an estimated 220,000 Filipinos.
The Singaporean Prime Minister last visited the Philippines in 2017.
