Authorities on Friday reported that anti-drug operatives in Makati City apprehended at least nine individuals and confiscated suspected shabu worth an estimated P170,000 in an operation Thursday evening.
The operation, conducted around 8:50 p.m. along Cuangco Street in Barangay Pio del Pilar, targeted violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, specifically Sections 5 (sale, trading, administration, dispensation, delivery, distribution and transportation of dangerous drugs), 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), 13 (possession of dangerous drugs during parties, social gatherings or meetings), and 14 (use of instrument/equipment for dangerous drugs).
The Station Drug Enforcement Unit, in coordination with Substation 3 personnel and under the supervision of Police Col. Jean I. Dela Torre, Chief of Police, initiated the buy-bust operation targeting two primary suspects, known only as “Lor” and “Leo.”
An undercover police officer successfully purchased a sachet of suspected shabu worth P8,000 from the suspects. Following the transaction, the officer identified himself, and the arresting team apprehended “Lor” and “Leo.”
