The Land Transportation Office-National Capital Region (LTO-NCR) is further improving its Online Plate Inquiry Project to simplify how motorists check the availability of license plates for both new vehicles and replacements (transitioning from green to white).

Accessible through the official LTO-NCR website, the enhanced system allows users to search using either their Plate Number or Motor Vehicle File Number.

The agency cited that this is particularly beneficial for motorcycle owners with backlogged plates who may not yet have an assigned plate number on their Certificate of Registration (CR).

The Regional Digital Media Public Assistance Office (R-DMPAO), under the leadership of assistant regional director Atty. Dennis P. Barrion, spearheaded the recent improvements in response to public demand.

“The R-DMPAO receives requests regularly, and this is our response to the public. We are doing our best to simplify and make it easier for everyone to check their plates online,” Barrion said.

Since its launch in February 2024, the LTO-NCR said it has facilitated over 2,000 requests for the delivery of replacement plates to various district and extension offices. Some motorists have also opted to claim their plates at the original office of issuance.

The LTO-NCR said motorists have welcomed the service, sharing positive feedback on the speed and convenience.
