Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla administered the oath of office to 154 newly appointed and promoted prosecutors of the Department of Justice (DoJ) at the Intramuros Convention Center.
At least 19 Prosecution Attorneys were elevated to the rank of Prosecutor, 74 prosecutors were promoted, and 61 new prosecution appointments were made, including Regional Prosecutor Louie Doligosa of Region VI.
The DoJ said the move aligns with the current administration’s “Bagong Pilipinas” leadership style and the department’s commitment to “Real Justice for All in Real Time” and achieving a “zero backlog policy” for case dispositions.
Key DoJ officials, including Undersecretary Fredderick A. Vida, Assistant Secretary Majken Anika S. Gran-Ong, Prosecutor General Richard Anthony D. Fadullon, and Regional Prosecutor Rommel Baligod of Region II, attended the event and addressed the new prosecutors.
In his keynote address, Remulla stressed the critical role of prosecutors in the criminal justice system, urging them to be “game-changers” in upholding the rule of law.
“We warmly welcome each one of you to our DoJ family, and from this day on, all of you will be part of our mission to ensuring that justice will be implemented efficiently and fairly for every Filipino,” Remulla said.
Simultaneously with the onboarding ceremonies, video presentations on the Comprehensive Prosecutors’ Assimilation and the Human Resources System were shown to familiarize the attendees with DoJ work processes.
The presentations were spearheaded by the NPS Special Projects Division and the DoJ Personnel Division.
