Teen hacked to death in Cagayan

BAGUIO CITY — Charges are being readied against the suspect who hacked to death a 16-year-old boy because of their past rift over a banana heart.
The incident happened Wednesday at Barangay Agamman Proper, Baggao, Cagayan. The victim is 16 years old while the suspect is a 35- year-old male, both are residents of Barangay Alba, Baggao, Cagayan.
Based on the results of the police investigation, the victim and the suspect had a heated argument where the suspect accused the victim of stealing his banana heart.
The suspect hurt the 16-year-old boy prompting the parents of the younger one to file a case of physical injury against the older one.
On 14 May, the two happened to meet in the area of Barangay Agamman Proper. The victim was on board his motorcycle while the suspect was driving his tricycle.
The suspect suddenly chased the victim with a bolo.
Acting on a tip of a concerned citizen, the Baggao police immediately rushed to the area where they saw the victim lying on the grass with blood oozing from the hack wounds on different parts of his body. The cops brought the victim to the hospital but was declared dead-on-arrival.
