At Book Nook, April was more than just a month — it was a story in motion. From SM Podium to SM Aura, the literary community came together to celebrate creativity, awareness, and inclusion through a series of engaging events that welcomed authors, artists, and book lovers of all ages.
At SM Podium, April began with a burst of color and imagination during the Beaded Bookmark Activity, where over 200 participants created their own handmade keepsakes. This was followed by the Just Believe book launch by Dr. Micky Macorol in partnership with BookShelfPH, inspiring readers to find strength in self-discovery.
In celebration of Earth Day, Book Nook hosted a special Read with Us session, where author Anya Santos-Uy read Alpabeto at Kalikasan and Pinky the Picky Butterfly to children from the Bear Ye One Another Burden Orphanage, in partnership with iBBY Philippines.
Themes of sustainability and self-confidence continued during the Always Be Chic workshop, led by author and host KC Leyco, also in collaboration with BookShelfPH. Attendees explored how their personal style choices could align with eco-conscious living.
A major milestone also unfolded at Book Nook SM Podium with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Autism Society Philippines (ASP). This new partnership launches Book Nook’s inclusive hiring initiative, opening job opportunities for individuals on the spectrum, starting with the Podium branch.
