Filipinos are known for their hospitality — to a fault, in fact. But they, too, have their limits.
Customers of the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) can expect lower electricity bills this April, following the utility firm’s announcement of a P0.7499 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) decrease in power rates.
The reduction brings the overall rate for a typical household down to P12.2628 per kWh.
“For residential customers consuming 200 kWh, they will see a decrease of around P150 in their total electricity bill this month. The rate reduction is due to lower generation and transmission charges,” said Meralco Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications Joe R. Zaldarriaga.
The company encourages customers to stay updated through Meralco’s website and official social media channels.
