At least six individuals, including drug users caught in the act of a pot session, were arrested in Marulas, Valenzuela City.
The arrested individuals were identified as “Wanbu,” 38; “Robin,” 34; “Rodrigo,” 38; “Jeff,” 33; “Son,” 38; and “Richard,” 41.
Police Major Jeraldson Rivera, officer-in-charge of the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Northern Police District, said the main target of the operation was Wanbu, who is considered the subject of the buy-bust operation.
“Usually, when the drug users purchase from Wanbu, they also use the illegal drugs there, and when we conducted the operation, they were caught in the act of pot session,” Rivera said.
He added that their investigation revealed Wanbu's house—where the buy-bust was conducted—is a known location for pot sessions.
Police operatives recovered 60 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P408,000.
The anti-drug chief said that four of the arrested suspects had previously been detained on drug-related charges, with three of them arrested as recently as 2024.
Rivera said the operation was “impactful,” as it yielded a significant amount of illegal drugs totaling 60 grams.
The six suspects have undergone inquest proceedings and will face charges in violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
