Authorities in Las Piñas City have apprehended a 41-year-old man known as “Negro,” identified as the No. 6 most wanted person at the district level for May 2025.
Police said the arrest occurred around 10 a.m. on Saturday in Barangay Pulanglupa 1, Las Piñas City, following a joint operation by the Warrant & Subpoena Section and the Station Intelligence Section of the Las Piñas City Police Station.
The operation was conducted under the directives of P/Col. Sandro Jay DC Tafalla, the city’s police chief.
“Negro” was wanted for attempted murder under Criminal Case No. 25-0294, with a recommended bail of P120,000.
The arrest was made based on a warrant issued on 2 April 2025, by Hon. Judge Pia Cristina B. Bersamin-Embuscado of the Regional Trial Court Branch 198 in Las Piñas City. The suspect is currently detained at the Station Custodial Facility of the Las Piñas City Police Station, awaiting a commitment order from the court.
Acting Southern Police District director PBGen. Joseph Arguelles praised the operating units for their swift and coordinated efforts.
“This arrest is a product of focused intelligence work and the relentless pursuit of justice by our personnel. It sends a strong message to those who continue to evade the law — we will find you. I commend the Las Piñas CPS operatives for their professionalism, teamwork, and commitment to public safety,” Arguelles said.
