This is a story for the ages. One of the 12 sons of Jacob, Joseph, is set on a path of greatness, but one that also tests his faith. Driven by jealousy, Joseph is sold into slavery by his brothers. Little do they know that this seemingly cruel twist of fate would take the young man on an extraordinary journey of hope and trust, where with one dream, God steps in and changes his world.

Trumpets brings this powerful story back to the stage with the return of its beloved musical, Joseph The Dreamer, this July at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza.

Celebrating its 30th year, the show brings with it a renewed energy by way of an exciting new staging, as reimagined by director Paolo Valenciano, with Sam Concepcion returning to the titular role. Joining him in the cast are Kayla Rivera, Carlo Orosa, Julia Serad and Aicelle Santos, among others. OPM icon Gary Valenciano, who played Joseph in the 1999 and 2000 runs, will be reprising his role as the family patriarch, Jacob.

The show’s music and choreography are infused with the beats that appeal to the new generation of theatergoers. “I think it’s time they get to experience JTD and the powerful story it has to tell,” shares Gemora. “That’s why we are bringing the show back this time.”

Since its first staging, Joseph’s colorful coat has been passed on to a number of talented actors, who have kept telling this story from one generation to the next. Audie Gemora introduced the world to Joseph before the likes of Gary Valenciano, Franco Laurel, Alvin dela Peña, Neo Rivera and now, Sam Concepcion. Jacob’s robes have also been passed on from Freddie Santos, who wrote the play based on the cantata by Cam Floria and directed the show, to Gemora and Valenciano.

Looking back on this amazing legacy, Gemora shares, “Of all the musicals I’ve done, there was only one show that changed my life — that is Joseph The Dreamer. The same goes for everyone who has been part of this show. It reminds us that God truly has a plan for all of us.”

Witness the extraordinary story of Trumpets’ Joseph The Dreamer once again. The show will run from 11 to 20 July at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza. Tickets are available at Ticket2Me.net and via showbuyers.
