Former Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) secretary and University of the Philippines (UP) president Alfredo Pascual was sworn in as the newest member of the UP Board of Regents (BOR) on 24 April.
He was appointed by President Bongbong Marcos on 15 April "for a term of two years, vice Gladys S.J. Tiongco."
This is followed by the recognition from the president to Pascual among one of the regents "who have distinguished themselves in their professions or fields of specialization," according to Section 12 (1)(i) of Republic Act No 9500 or the UP Charter of 2008.
Pascual is an alumni of UP who graduated with a Master of Business of Administration degree in 1972 and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, cum laude, in 1969.
