Twisted Minds head coach Kristoffer "BON CHAN" Ricaplaza elaborated on why he drafted Leomord in Game 1 against AP Bren on Week 7, Day 1 of MPL Season 15 last Saturday at Green Sun in Makati.

Leomord, a durable burst hero released in 2018, has long been MIA (missing in action) in the local professional scene.

Leomord finally made a comeback this weekend when BON CHAN had his jungler, MP the King, play the hero—resulting in a win en route to a crucial sweep.

For BON CHAN, hero upgrades in patches should never be overlooked.

"It is good to maximize heroes who received a big buff. One example is Leomord, whose cooldown was lessened, so now he can spam his ultimate anytime," BON CHAN said.

"That was huge. If I am not mistaken, even before this patch, his critical was buffed too, so he was buffed twice and nobody paid attention."

A fighter that guarantees critical hits when an enemy's HP is low, Leomord excels in team fights with his crowd control and mobility when mounted on his ultimate, Barbiel.

And while Leomord has been off-meta for a while, the latest patch significantly reduced his ultimate Phantom Steed's cooldown time, allowing players to utilize him at his best more frequently.

Furthermore, the latest patch also buffed Barbiel's run toward Leomord when called upon, making the former much faster and easier to mount when summoned.
