The SM Foundation has launched its Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan (KSK) program in Southern Luzon, with 100 farmers from San Juan, Batangas commencing a 14-week training on modern agricultural practices.
The program provides practical instruction in organic farming, crop rotation and climate-resilient techniques. In addition to agricultural training, participants will undergo learning sessions in financial literacy, bookkeeping and marketing to support the development of farm-based enterprises.
The training is enriched with dynamic sessions that delve into the inspiring Life Principles of SM Group founder Henry Sy Sr., offering practical strategies that not only enhance their personal and professional development but also empower them to make a positive impact within their communities.
The initiative aims to enhance agricultural productivity and strengthen livelihood opportunities in farming communities. Following the rollout in Batangas and Quezon, the SM Foundation plans to implement the KSK program in Lucena, Quezon, Camarines Sur and other locations nationwide.
Over 30,000 farmers have successfully graduated from the program, with many now thriving as seasonal suppliers for the SM Group, local markets and as sellers at the SM Weekend Market.
