As the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) continues its commitment to improving air travel infrastructure throughout the country, exciting advancements are still taking place at Zamboanga International Airport.
Currently planned renovations include the complete restoration of the passenger terminal building and extensive runway repair and grading, both of which are expected to be finished in August this year. A runway turn-around pad and strip grade correction work are also moving along nicely, with completion anticipated in October.
According to CAAP, these enhancements would greatly improve operations at the airport’s terminal, which serves hundreds of travelers with its 575-seat capacity and has 4 aircraft parking bays.
In order to improve the infrastructure for air transportation, especially in Mindanao, CAAP and the Department of Transportation are committed to taking a nationwide strategy
They are promoting the socioeconomic development of Zamboanga and the surrounding area while guaranteeing safer flights and improved passenger experiences by fortifying this crucial gateway in the southern Philippines.
