Malacañang has declared 21 March of every year as a special non-working holiday in Calapan, Oriental Mindoro.
This is done in commemoration of the city’s founding anniversary.
Listed as Republic Act 12158, this declaration repeals Republic Act 8986 which placed 21 March as a special working holiday in the city of Calapan.
This new measure will take effect 15 days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. signed RA 12158 on 11 April 2025.
