The Philippine flag at the Kartilya ng Katipunan in Manila City Hall was flown at half-mast Tuesday in honor of National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Nora Aunor, who died 16 April 2025.

Officials from the local government of Manila led the city in paying tribute to Aunor, recognizing her legacy.

“Thank you, Ate Guy, for the memories, the art, and the love you etched into the history of our culture. You will forever live in the hearts of your fans and in the art that will never be forgotten,” said the local government.

“A heartfelt condolence and tribute to Nora Aunor...Farewell, our Superstar. We salute you!” it added.

Other city officials also attended the state necrological service held at the Metropolitan Theater in Manila. National Artist Ricky Lee and actor-director Joel Lamangan delivered eulogies.

Aunor, whose real name was Nora Cabaltera Villamayor, was laid to rest with full honors Tuesday at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City, escorted by personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
