Pasig City mayoral candidate Sarah Discaya assured the public that she would immediately construct in-city vertical housing for the city's underprivileged and homeless constituents, including informal settler families, if elected in the upcoming midterm elections.
Discaya, a successful businesswoman and owner of a quadruple-A construction company, plans to build 11-story housing buildings in Barangays Malinao and Santolan.
"Every family's dream: a home that is never rained on, never blown away, and never evicted," Discaya said.
In Santolan, families have endured for decades the unfulfilled promise of a proper home.
"How many times have they promised to provide safer housing, but still living near the danger zones–being flooded, being endured, being missed?" she asked.
"But now, there is new hope. There is a leader who will no longer give reasons why there is nothing. Ate Sarah will act immediately to address all these problems," she added.
Under Discaya's housing project, it’s not just homes that will be built — it’s also about restoring dignity to every Pasigueño family.
"Has its own space, have security, and above all, have the right to never be evicted," Discaya said.
"Home is the beginning of everything. Here hope arises, here dreams are shaped, here, the courage to face the challenges of everyday life grows. If your family has been in uncertainty for a long time where to go home, here is the answer," she added.
